Getting Here

One of the best things about Las Gaviotas is how easy it is to reach. The drive from San Diego takes less than an hour, including border crossing time. You’ll pass through Tijuana and Rosarito Beach before arriving at our gates.

Important: Mexican auto insurance is required by law. We strongly recommend purchasing it online before your trip through our partner Baja Bound – it’s simple, affordable, and gives you peace of mind.

What to Expect During Your Stay

Las Gaviotas offers the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation:

For Beach Lovers: The picturesque coastline features a mix of smooth Mexican pebbles near the water and sandy areas ideal for sunbathing and beach lounging. Gentle family-friendly waves and stronger surf breaks coexist, and the beach is never too crowded, giving you plenty of room to spread out.

For Surfers: Las Gaviotas is legendary in the surf community. Beginners and seasoned pros alike will find breaks that match their skill level. Peak surf season runs from late fall through early spring. Check out some surf photos sent in my visitors.

For Families: The gated community provides a safe environment where kids can explore tide pools and play freely on the beach. Take advantage of the community’s spacious pool and soothing spa with stunning ocean views. Active families will love the tennis or pickleball courts and volleyball, while many rental homes feature private spas, game rooms, and entertainment areas for hours of family fun.

For Foodies: While your rental home comes with a full kitchen, nearby Popotla, Puerto Nuevo & Rosarito areas offers incredible restaurants featuring fresh seafood, authentic tacos, and oceanfront dining. We’ll share our favorite spots in upcoming posts.
